Sergeant C.B. Williams

Sgt. Williams started his law enforcement career in 1998 with The University of South Carolina PD after graduating from The University of South Carolina.  In November of 2000 he joined the Columbia Police Department was assigned to The South Region where he served as a patrol officer and in 2002 he was assigned to South Region CRT.  He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in February of 2006 and to Sergeant in May of 2012.  In July 2009 he was selected to supervise the new formed Interstate Criminal Enforcement Team.  In October of 2010 he was assigned to supervise The CPD Drug Suppression Team.  

Sgt Williams has been a member of CPD K-9 Tam since September of 2002.  He assigned K-9 Scotty and has been his partner since the retirement of K-9 Zorro in 2011.

MPO P.J. Myers

MPO Myers started his law enforcement career in 1998 and joined The Columbia Police Department in November 2007.  Prior to joining CPD, MPO Myers was a police officer for the NYPD, stationed in the Bronx, NY.  MPO Myers was assigned to North Region where he worked patrol.  During his time at CPD he has worked in West and South Regions, he worked as a member of The South Region Community Response Team where he received numerous commendations.  He was assigned to The Drug Suppression Team in 2011.

Officer W.S. Mays

MPO Mays is a native of Augusta, GA and attended South Carolina State University where he earned a B.S. Degree in Biology.  He was hired by The Columbia Police Department in 2009 after starting his law enforcement career with SC Department of Corrections.  He was assigned to North Region as a patrol officer and was assigned to DST in 2010.  MPO Mays was awarded 2010 Rookie of the Year for CPD.  He was promoted to Master Patrol Officer in 2011.

K-9 Scotty

K-9 Scotty is a Belgium Malinois that was imported from Holland and purchased from Custom Canine Unlimited in Georgia in 2011.  K-9 Scotty was assigned to DST to replace K-9 Zorro after his retirement in 2011 after 11 years of service.   K-9 Scotty is full service police and has been trained in narcotic detection, tracking, criminal apprehension, building search, and handler protection.
