What kinds of crime does the Property Crimes Unit handle?
The Property Crimes Unit is responsible for the prompt and thorough investigation of the following offenses:
Burglary – all classifications
Stealing – all classifications except shoplifting, embezzlement, fraud, and certain thefts by deceit, confidence games, pocket picking, and forged or bogus checks with are investigated by the Fraud and Forgery Sections of this Division

Property Crimes investigators provide follow up on all property crime investigations initiated by patrol officers and initiate their own investigation from their office.
